Chapter Meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month (during the school calendar), with meeting times typically scheduled from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. 
The meetings are located on the Texas Woman's University (TWU) Dallas Campus:

  • Congratulations to Research Grant and Scholarship Recipients

    Congratulations to Aletha Rossler and Joyce B Thomas for receiving the Beta Beta chapter's scholarship and research grant awards!

    Aletha and Joyce are two dedicated members in our chapter. They are both passionate about their research and are making significant contributions to their fields. We are so proud of their accomplishments and are excited to see what they achieve in their PhDs.

  • ASSET Workshop & Dinner

    On July 12th, TWU Dallas held its ASSET Simulation Faculty Development Workshop to increase the amount of clinical specialists to be available for teaching at the bedside. Beta Beta assisted in this endeavor by sponsoring a networking dinner that followed after.

  • Welcome New Members!

    Congratulations to the newest members that attended our Spring 2023 Induction Ceremony and are now part of our Beta Beta Chapter! Special thanks to our guest speaker, Linda Merrit and our member of the year, Lori Aaron-Brija and a shout-out to Emily Berkowitz for going above and beyond in the planning process.   • Specialty Nursing Session a Success

    Beta Beta members Kelly Danh & Autumn Turner Giunta hosted a panel of nurses who shared information about their nursing specialty areas via Zoom this week.  We heard from a surgical nurse, a hospice nurse, a nurse educator, and many others.  Each nurse explained the ups and downs of their chosen field and why they have a passion for that nursing specialty.  It was truly heart-warming!
  • Welcome New Members!

    72  new members joined our Beta Beta Chapter at the spring 2022 induction ceremony.  We are delighted to welcome you all.  We enjoyed hearing about your plans for the future.  Our inspirational guest speaker was Shopha Tserotas.  Thanks to our Member of the Year, Grace Yousef for planning the event!  Thanks to Professor Cheryl Thaxton who took photographs at the ceremony and Kelly Danh who uploaded the photos for everyone to enjoy (see the Resources tab).
  • Winter Event

    TWU Professor Laurie Galatas led an interactive discussion about moral distress in the nursing profession at the Winter Event.  Discussion included in person and online participants.
  • Founder's Day Event a Success!

    In honor of Founder's Day, Dr. Willie Abel presented "Hypertension in Black Women" to Beta Beta Dallas members and friends at a free online CEU event in October.
  • Beta Beta Welcomes Our New Members!

    The Beta Beta Dallas Chapter held a virtual induction ceremony on Monday, April 19th, 2021.  We welcomed many TWU undergraduate and graduate students as well as 2 nurse leaders from the Dallas area: Nakia Pittman-Shaver and Jenna Joohye Lee.  Our guest speaker for the evening was Andrew Awoniyi.  Aleatha Rossler was named 2021 member of the Year!
  • Beta Beta Inducts New Members Virtually!!

    The Beta Beta Dallas Chapter welcomed more than 60 new members recently.  The online induction ceremony was presented by chapter leaders Mary Grace Yousef, Joy Spadachene, Aleatha Rossler, Nola Schrum, Christina Villanueva, & Catherine Bailey.  Kristine Morris was the guest speaker and Deb Nolan was named 2020 Member of the Year!
  • Beta Beta Recruits Internationally!!

    Beta Beta Dallas members recently hosted a recruitment luncheon for 18 Korean nursing students attending the Global Nursing Conference.  TWU faculty and students  presented our Code Blue simulation and our Women's Health simulation to the students during their visit.  Please see pictures in our resources folder.
  • Sigma Members visit Washington D. C.

    Several members of our Beta Beta Dallas chapter attended the 45th Sigma Biennial Convention. Dr. Bailey represented us as a voting member.  Dr. Chin Nu Lin presented "Generation Z's Perception and Vision of Happiness".
