Chief of Psychology at the Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System and Associate Professor for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with the Clinical Scholars Track.

Dr. Alina Suris is a Fellow in the American Academy of Clinical Psychology and Diplomate in Clinical Psychology with the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Suris is a Lecturer for the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center Substance Abuse Fellowship Program. She lecturers first year Psychology Residents on PTSD and provides various lectures on topics including: Treatment of PTSD using Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (CBT), Acculturation Issues with Substance Abuse Treatment, and Hispanic issues in Mental Health. She is a CBT Supervisor and supervises third year Psychology Residents in Individual CBT cases as well as during Elective Rotations. In addition, Dr. Suris also is a Group Therapy Supervisor for third year Psychology Residents for various groups: Women’s Support Group, Cognitive Processing for Rape Group, Military Sexual Trauma Group, Men’s Sexual Trauma Support Group.
